The Serbia’s artificial intelligence (AI) landscape is evolving rapidly. It is being shaped by parallel advances in digitalisation, innovation, industrial adoption and emerging regulatory frameworks. In recent years, the country has invested in modernising public services, strengthening its research and innovation capacity, and supporting the growth of high-tech companies and start-ups.

The SAIFA Consortium is glad to announce its participation in the DeepTech & Innovation Online School organized by the  A-SIDE project, which aims at enhancing the quality and competitiveness of European higher education, as part of the EIT HEI Initiative programme.

Agentic AI refers to Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems designed to function as autonomous or semi-autonomous agents. Such systems can understand high-level goals, decompose them into actionable tasks, and execute these tasks with minimal human intervention.

We are glad to announce the delivery of the Design of the AI Gateway document as part of the activities of SAIFA work package 3 entitled SAIFA Integrated HPC and AI runtime environment. 

The Belgrade Bioinformatics Conference (BelBi 2026) is an annual international conference organized by several Serbian institutions, led by the Institute of Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering (IMGGE), University of Belgrade, as the main organizer.

On 14 May 2026, the kick-off meeting of the SAIFA – Serbian Artificial Intelligence Factory Antenna project was held at the Palace of Science in Belgrade, marking the official start of Serbia’s participation in the emerging European AI Factory ecosystem under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking initiative.
